Job summary

Google Inc. in New York, NY, USA is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Google Cloud Storage organization. You will guide project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team across engineers and locations.

You’ll own priorities, manage budgets, and oversee deployment of large-scale projects globally. You will mentor engineers, set expectations, and align roadmaps with business goals while delivering high-impact systems and software at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and provide regular feedback.
• Develop mid-term technical goals and roadmaps within the scope of multiple teams and evolve them for future infrastructure needs.
• Design and vet systems designs, write development code, and review others' code to ensure best practices.
