Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer Manager II for Cloud Storage, D Server, to lead technical directions and coach engineers across multiple teams. The role focuses on owning outcomes, solving complex problems, and guiding product and infrastructure priorities.

You will influence stakeholders, manage a team, and drive deployment of large-scale projects across sites internationally. English proficiency is required for global collaboration and alignment with Google’s standards.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop the mid-term technical outlook and roadmap for the team(s).
• Design, guide and vet systems designs and write product or system development code.
• Review code to ensure best practices, quality, and efficiency.
