Google is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Manager II for Google Cloud Storage in Seattle, WA. You will lead multi-team efforts across large-scale infrastructure, guiding engineers to optimize systems and deliver on ambitious product goals.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, people management, and strategic roadmap development, with responsibilities spanning architecture reviews, code guidance, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop mid-term technical goals and roadmap across multiple teams and evolve it for future infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the broader area and write product or system development code.
• Review code from other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices and efficiency.
