Job summary

Kestra Technologies seeks a Lead Tech SRE to own Kestra Cloud end to end: architecture, delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the platform. You stay hands-on (Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, incident work) while setting technical direction and reviewing designs.

You would lead a team of three including yourself, working closely with the CTO and platform engineering. This is an engineering leadership role, fully remote, with a remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, platform, or infra engineering.
• 2+ years leading technical direction of a team or platform.
• Kubernetes at scale, upgrades, and drift control.
• Strong Google Cloud experience (GKE, IAM, networking).
• Expert Terraform usage and module design.
• Proven ability to architect, spec, and dispatch work.
• Real on-call and incident response experience.
• SaaS operations with customer-focused SLAs.
• Fluent in English and autonomous in remote work.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture of Kestra Cloud on GCP, including per-customer stacks and migration path to GA.
• Write specs (design docs, RFCs, ADRs) defending trade-offs between isolation, cost, and managed vs self-run.
• Define SLOs and error budgets per service and tier for prioritization.
• Break specs into work and dispatch across the team; set module and GitOps standards.
• Automate lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, scaling, backups, migration, and decommissioning.
• Own release path with ArgoCD and GitHub Actions across the fleet; manage rollouts and rollbacks.
