Job summary

WPP Media is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own production stability and observability for a mission-critical platform on Google Cloud Platform that supports global campaigns.

You will lead incident response, drive root cause analysis, and mentor the L2+ support squad while partnering with Product, Engineering, and QA to improve release and change management and influence the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting production systems at scale.
• Hands-on SRE with GCP including Compute Engine, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL.
• Strong Python proficiency for production code fixes.
• Leading a squad or technical team is a plus.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own production stability, observability, and system health on GCP.
• Define observability strategy using Cloud Logging/Monitoring, Prometheus, and PromQL.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; partner with Engineering lead.
• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents across app, data, infra, and network layers.
• Read, debug, and patch Python production codebase.
• Monitor workflows, data refreshes, checks, and compliance reporting.
• Automate manual support tasks and maintain runbooks for ops relief.
• Provide technical leadership to the L2+ support squad with coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA to assess risk and influence roadmap decisions.
