Job summary

ByteDance’s Infrastructure Engineering team in Seattle designs, builds, and operates global infrastructure spanning public and private clouds. You’ll create automation tools, standardize cloud AMIs, and participate in on-call rotations to address incidents across cloud, OS, network, and storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux operations, SRE, or DevOps.
• Proficient in Go, Python, or C++, with solid tooling and automation.
• Strong CS fundamentals with Linux, networks, storage, GPUs, and databases.
• Familiar with reliability practices: monitoring, incident response, and postmortems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure, including large-scale systems spanning public and private clouds.
• Develop tools, automation frameworks, visualizations, and monitoring to streamline operations and optimization.
• Create, manage, and standardize cloud AMIs/images with compliance alignment across environments.
• Engage in on-call rotations to address incidents related to cloud, OS, network, performance and reliability.
• Drive improvements across the entire infrastructure lifecycle from ideation and design to deployment and support.
