Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking Cloud Solutions Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer Interns for the Cloud Platforms and Architectures Department in the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). Positions are available in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

Interns will support development of Cloud-based SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS capabilities, work on multiple projects, and gain hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Available for full-time for at least 10 weeks during summer and return to degree program afterward.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Software development experience in at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust).
• Familiar with Linux/Unix systems.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD or similar DevOps tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Perform software and hardware development for cloud-related rapid prototyping activities.
• Research and experiment with state-of-the-art software and hardware technologies.
• Manage Linux systems to provide SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS capabilities.
• Implement DevOps technologies to streamline development, testing, build, and deployment.
• Leverage cloud tools and platforms such as Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Investigate bleeding-edge cloud technologies for current and future implementations.
