Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring Cloud Solutions Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer Interns for the Cloud Platforms and Architectures Department in the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). Interns will work onsite at Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO to gain hands-on cloud engineering experience across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms.

Responsibilities include prototyping software/hardware, managing Linux systems, and applying DevOps methodologies with tools

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field(s)
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Software development experience with at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust)
• Understand how to use Linux/Unix systems
• Familiar with DevOps tools, such as Git, Jenkins, and/or ArgoCD
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform software and hardware development for cloud-related rapid prototyping activities
• Research and experiment with state-of-the-art software and hardware technologies
• Manage Linux systems to provide SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS capabilities
• Implement DevOps technologies to streamline development, testing, build, and deployment of applications
• Leverage cloud tools and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Investigate bleeding edge cloud technologies for current and future implementation
• Receive training and mentorship from cloud/software development experts
• Learn about projects, tools, and technologies across the enterprise
