Job summary

Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence is seeking a Cloud Solution Engineer to partner with select Department of Defense accounts, focusing on the Army and hybrid in-office work in the greater Washington DC area.

You will architect cloud solutions, deliver impactful demonstrations and workshops, and guide programs from discovery to deployment, driving modernization and secure workload adoption across OCI and the broader Oracle stack.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solution engineering, technical presales, cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or a related customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on experience with major hyperscale cloud platforms: OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP (OCI preferred).
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture across compute, storage, networking, databases, IAM, containers/Kubernetes, and observability.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical architectures and solutions.
• Experience in government, defense, or enterprise accounts.
• Experience supporting RFIs/RFPs, demonstrations, or formal procurement processes.
• Strong presentation, demonstration, and whiteboarding skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as dedicated technical advisor to named DoD accounts and collaborate with account executives throughout the sales cycle.
• Lead technical discovery to understand missions, environments, modernization priorities, program requirements, and challenges.
• Architect cloud solutions supporting programs, migrations, and new mission workloads.
• Design and deliver demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of concept tailored to customer requirements.
• Lead technical contributions to RFIs, RFPs, and complex government procurements.
• Translate mission requirements into reference architectures and long-term technical roadmaps.
• Assist post-award deployments to drive adoption, consumption, and expansion.
• Build lasting relationships with engineers, architects, program offices, and senior leadership.
• Represent customer voice to Oracle teams to address requirements and gaps.
• Explore secure adoption of AI and GPU-enabled workloads in cloud environments.
