Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Space Sector is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This role designs and builds cloud software for space ground systems, with responsibilities across Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C++, and RESTful APIs.

You will apply CI/CD practices, work with AWS services, and mentor teammates while delivering high‑quality software under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Proficiency in Python and experience with RESTful APIs and event-driven systems.
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools, and software design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Designing, architecting, and implementing cloud software for space ground software and operations.
• Writing and maintaining software in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C++.
• Developing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs for mission and business functionality.
• Applying CI/CD practices, Git, and automated testing to ensure quality software delivery.
• Solving complex technical problems with strong analytical skills.
• Preparing charts and presenting data to internal teams and customers.
• Mentoring team members across multiple program schedules with tight deadlines.
