Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Thermal/Mechanical Engineers to design and optimize server platforms for cloud infrastructure. You will lead mechanical and thermal integration for automated assembly, working with cross-functional teams to improve performance, cost, and reliability.

The role requires hands-on design experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing tech contexts, with a focus on scalable, cost-effective server systems for global data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 7 years experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent technology.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • 9 years experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience with project management of technical projects.
  • Experience with thermal analysis tools such as CFD (e.g., Flotherm, ANSYS Icepak, or similar).
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo/ProE).

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems.
  • Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives.
  • Collaborate with HW and SW teams to develop optimized integrated solutions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems.
  • Manage interaction with overseas resources.
  • Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers.
  • Assess server designs for automated assembly, design for automation and throughput efficiency.
