The Infrastructure Administrator implements, migrates, integrates and supports cloud based and on-premises IT systems. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the compute, storage, and networking requirements across the CONMED organization. The person in this role must communicate easily and clearly with non-technical personnel at varying levels. This position will implement and maintain multiple systems, ensuring the cloud environment runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties will include configuring and deploying cloud-based applications and services, such as databases, email systems, and web servers.
The successful candidate will be a person who is able to collaborate closely with a remote work force and perform their work successfully with limited supervision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with IT projects to meet the needs of the organization, including new server and service configuration and implementation, User management and operational handoff. Managing and monitoring all installed systems and services across the environment to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Provides 3rd level support for escalated help desk requests, troubleshoots systems and software. Works with IT colleagues and/or users to quickly resolve issues and prevent delays. identifies possible solutions and works with application developers and/or vendors to implement those fixes.
- Writes and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency, lower the human intervention time on repeatable tasks, and otherwise create efficiencies. Updates systems with the latest security patches and standards in accordance with established procedures. Plans, implements and manages data migration and backup processes. Implements security and compliance best practices when deploying, maintaining, or developing new infrastructure solutions.
- Contributes to solution architecture and design in cloud environments, with an expertise in Azure technologies.
Required Experience and Skills:
- bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related field. (Or equivalent experience and/or certifications).
- 3-5 years experience in cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience as a Cloud Administrator or similar role
- Solid PowerShell and Azure CLI skills
- Experience providing technical support for Microsoft Server and SQL products, Windows Server 2019 and beyond, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
- Experience with management tools such as Intune, MECM or similar products.
- Experience supporting both domestic and international users in a global organization.
- Basic network understanding and troubleshooting.
Prefered Skills:
- Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent Azure certification
- Background in DevOps
- KQL (Kusto Query Language) experience.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Azure services and products.
- In-depth knowledge on Azure storage, compute, virtual networking, and identity management in the cloud
