Job summary

The Judicial Council of California’s Information Technology office is seeking a Senior Technology Analyst to understand evolving LAN/WAN technologies, support a managed services vendor contract, and design data center hosting and cloud architectures that meet business needs.

You will serve as a technical subject matter consultant to the courts, ensure compliance with laws and policies, and work under general supervision in a hybrid model with the San Francisco or Sacramento offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 5+ years maintaining complex infrastructure including servers, operating systems, networks, and security.
• Experience with data centers, cloud hosting, and vendor management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Understand evolving LAN/WAN technologies and data center hosting solutions.
• Support a managed services vendor contract and cloud hosted architectures to meet business requirements.
• Design, engineer, configure, troubleshoot network infrastructure, and ensure compliance with laws and council policies.
• Serve as a technical subject matter consultant to the courts and act as a point of escalation for technical matters.
• Work under general direction and supervision on complex projects.

Job description

The Judicial Council of California’s Information Technology office is hiring a Senior Technology Analyst with CCTC Steady State unit. The Primary responsibilities for the Senior Technology Analyst include understanding emerging local and wide area network technologies including data center hosting solutions. Supporting an existing managed services vendor contract and cloud hosted application architectures including business, functional and technical operational requirements. Strong network infrastructure design, engineering, and configuration as well as troubleshooting expertise. Ensuring appropriate laws, guidelines and Judicial Council policies being met for complex project work, technical requirements, and tracking documentation. Serve as a technical subject matter consultant to the courts including a point of escalation for technical matters. This position receives general direction and supervision.

The Judicial Council
The Judicial Council of California is the policy setting body for the state court system and has constitutionally conferred statewide rule-making authority. This authority includes developing, advocating for, and allocating the judicial branch budget. A majority of Council members are California state justices and judges; however, the Council also includes lawyers, legislators, and court administrators.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, or a related field, and five
(5) years of experience maintaining complex infrastructure with extensive knowledge in assigned
area of expertise such as servers, hardware, operating systems and/or network operating systems,
network hardware, telecommunications, and security.

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or directly related field
may be substituted for one of the years of required experience. An additional four years of
professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional
directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

One year as a Technology Analyst with the Judicial Council of California or one year of experience
performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Technology
Analyst in a California Superior Court or California state-level government entity.
