Job summary

PeopleTec, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design and implement security across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. You will design scalable security controls, automate deployments with IaC, and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines while maintaining compliance and incident response readiness.

The role offers flexible remote, hybrid, onsite arrangements based on program needs and requires US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• 2+ years designing or securing Azure/AWS/hybrid clouds; 5+ years preferred.
• 2+ years engineering or configuring security tech like EDR/XDR, SIEM, SOAR, CSPM, WAF, or vulnerability management.
• Experience designing and configuring WAF solutions for internet-facing apps.
• Experience CSPM in Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience logging, threat detection, and security automation.
• Knowledge IAM, Zero Trust, least privilege principles.
• Experience with Defender XDR, Defender, AWS Security Hub, or similar.
• Ability to produce technical docs and transition artifacts.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate cloud security tooling across Azure, AWS, and hybrid clouds.
• Develop scalable security architectures and technical controls.
• Define logging, telemetry, dashboards, and automated security workflows.
• Configure Web Application Firewall (WAF) architectures for internet-facing apps.
• Implement CSPM and vulnerability management processes.
• Apply IAM, RBAC, MFA, and zero-trust principles.
• Develop security automation and IaC for repeatable deployments.
• Document security architectures and runbooks for operations.
• Support CI/CD integration of security testing.
