Job summary

Virginia Farm Bureau in Richmond, VA, seeks a Cloud Security Specialist to join the security team. You will manage cloud security postures across Azure and AWS, integrate security into deployment pipelines, and safeguard identities and data.

This role is hybrid, with in-office presence required two days a week after training. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in Azure/AWS, strong IAM and cloud security knowledge, and hands-on experience with IaC security reviews and policy as code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field; degree equivalence accepted.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, DevSecOps, or related work.
• 3–5 years administering Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Azure and AWS for misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, policy violations, and drift.
• Tune cloud security posture management with Defender for Cloud, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
• Investigate alerts and coordinate remediation with owners; elevate high-risk findings.
• Maintain cloud security dashboards and asset inventories.
• Support IAM controls (Entra ID, IAM, RBAC, MFA, conditional access).
• Review IaC (Bicep, ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation) for security risks.
• Implement policy as code with Azure Policy, AWS SCPs, Config rules.
• Support data security configurations (encryption, KMS, Key Vault).
• Monitor logs and assist incident response; support risk assessments against standards.
