Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Engineer for Security Escalations to drive security improvements at scale. You will lead cross-team efforts, develop executive reporting, and apply AI-enabled security workflows to threat detection and incident response.

You will coordinate with leadership across locations, set security objectives, and balance business needs with technical constraints while delivering measurable security enhancements for AWS cloud services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
• 3+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in common languages.
• Knowledge of two or more languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with security frameworks, IAM, incident response, cloud security, AI security, threat intel, or pentesting.
• Experience applying threat modeling or risk identification techniques.

Responsibilities

• Act as Security Bar Raiser; evaluate incidents, determine root cause and remediation, and drive improvements at scale.
• Collaborate across business and service teams to drive security enhancement projects and report status.
• Develop executive-level written reporting on project status and outcomes.
• Chair weekly security meetings with senior leadership and capture follow-up actions.
• Identify security requirements by collecting inputs from business, security, and tech teams.
• Leverage AI and agentic tech to enhance threat detection, escalation triage, and autonomous response.
• Address bottlenecks, manage escalations, and balance business needs with tech constraints.
• Coordinate with multiple teams across locations to ensure timely delivery of secure solutions.
• Clarify and drive security objectives and maintain accountability chains.
• Drive security metrics delivery and improvements.
