Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design and implement security architectures for cloud-based systems. You will guide RMF-based security requirements across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid resources, and work with developers to ensure standards and controls are met.

You will leverage AWS, OpenSearch, and Splunk for security analytics and threat detection, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to Booz Allen’s secure mission-critical platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments and utilizing cloud-native functionality, COTs, GOTs, and open-source tools to meet objectives.
• Experience with RMF, security architecture evaluations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure, IAM, VPC networking, security controls, and troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing STIGs and Linux security hardening, and building STIG-hardened AMIs.
• Experience with security analytics using Splunk or AWS-native OpenSearch, central logging, and integration with AWS security services.

Responsibilities

• Define, communicate, and implement security architecture to support mission-critical operations for a Booz Allen product.
• Guide development of cloud-based security architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Research and recommend tools and capabilities to address RMF compliance and security requirements.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure standards and information assurance are met.
• Mentor junior staff and strengthen cloud security expertise across the team.
