Job summary

Opendoor is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to protect our cloud and data while keeping engineering velocity. You will own security across multi-account AWS, Kubernetes clusters, and the identity plane, and partner with teams to embed guardrails into pipelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on security design, threat detection, and mentorship, with in-person work at our Miami office and a strong focus on zero trust, posture management, and automated remediation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud or infrastructure security experience with deep AWS expertise.
• Strong automation mindset and track record of building agentic security systems.
• Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments.
• Identity and access management at scale; security patterns for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own security architecture of production cloud environment – AWS multi-account, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Drive cloud security visibility and automated remediation for infra risks.
• Define zero trust access strategy with device trust and identity proxies.
• Harden Kubernetes with RBAC, admission policies, workload identity, image signing.
• Build agentic detection and response workflows using AWS primitives.
• Shift-left cloud security in pipelines with Terraform/Terrakube, GitHub Actions, Datadog.
