Job summary

AMAX is seeking an on‑prem network engineer to design, build, and operate the infrastructure behind a cloud‑like environment. You’ll own VLAN design, routing, firewall policy, and load balancer configuration across our datacenter, while ensuring security and compliance through network segmentation and access controls.

You’ll implement configuration‑as‑code with Ansible and work with Terraform/Terragrunt as needed, collaborating with infra/DevSecOps on tooling, monitoring, and automation.

Qualifications

• Solid networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancers.
• Hands-on configuration-as-code for infrastructure using Ansible.
• Exposure to on-prem/datacenter network operations.
• Proficiency with Git and standard version control workflows.
• Willingness to do hands-on datacenter/hardware work (cabling, rack/stack, troubleshooting).
• Prior colocation/datacenter smart-hands experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the on-prem network infrastructure behind our cloud-like environment.
• Own VLAN design, routing, firewall policy, and load balancer configuration across the datacenter.
• Manage network segmentation and access control for security/compliance.
• Build/configure network devices using Ansible; leverage Terraform/Terragrunt where applicable.
• Collaborate with infra/DevSecOps on tooling, monitoring, and automation.
• Monitor network health with Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager; troubleshoot issues.
