Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud Platform Administrator to join a team responsible for managing and maintaining multiple network enclaves to support the DoD community. The candidate will aid in developing, maintaining, creating, documenting, and installing network and enclave infrastructure for a broad range of programming requirements, datasets, applications, and research objectives.

This is a demanding, high-energy position requiring innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM; 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent, per job posting.
  • U.S. Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ within 60 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Linux, security, back-up and recovery specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage server access for multiple external vendors (government, academia, industry).
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages; maintain per IT policies.
  • Monitor and tune the system for optimum performance.
  • Perform additional program-related duties as assigned.

Everforth ECS is seeking a

Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud Platform Administrator to join a team responsible for managing and maintaining multiple network enclaves to support the DoW community. The candidate will aid in developing, maintaining, creating, documenting, and installing network and enclave infrastructure for a broad range of programming requirements, datasets, applications, and research objectives. This is a demanding, high-energy position that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills; is a motivated, self-starter who enthusiastically tackles operational challenges, and can quickly grasp and implement creative solutions; and is both customer-service and career growth-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage server access for multiple, simultaneous, external vendors (i.e., Government, academia, and industry).
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages; maintain them in accordance with established information technology (IT) policies and
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance
  • Perform additional program-related duties, as
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Salary: $160,000 - $190,000

Please note, Salary is commensurate with skillset, qualifications, experience, and educational background.

Required Skills

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline, and 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher) within 60 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Linux, security, back-up and recovery specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability with automation scripting languages such as
  • In-depth understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency’s Security Technical Implementation Guide requirements (DISA STIGs).
  • Prior hands-on experience:
    • Installing and configuring software and Microsoft Azure infrastructure components
    • Providing technical support to both Windows and Linux-based servers and information technology systems
    • Managing server access for multiple dispersed users
    • Collaborating with Cloud Service Providers to design, implement, and maintain customer solutions
    • Writing and executing technical documents including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), and other related technical artifacts.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).

  • In-depth knowledge of, and experience with:
  • FortiGate Firewalls Cisco Switch, and Mobile API Gateway (MAG) device configurations.
  • Web server administration (IIS, Apache, NGINX, etc.).
  • DevOps technologies.
  • Storage technologies and procedures.
  • Patch Management solution implementation.
  • System orchestration (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.).
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
