Job summary

Everforth ECS invites a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a high-energy team at Ft. Meade, MD, designing and maintaining multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem.

The role requires DoD context, security clearances, and a proactive mindset in solving complex network and platform automation challenges. The candidate will work closely with SMEs, integrate cloud solutions in a CI/CD environment, and ensure robust security posture while supporting DoW enclave deployments and partner

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 10–12 years of related professional experience.
• DoD 8140 compliant with active minimum IAT Level II Security+ (or higher).
• Ability to travel CONUS / OCONUS up to 20% of the time, as needed.
• 5–7 years designing, engineering, and deploying infrastructure in cloud environments.
• 5+ years Azure experience across Windows and Linux endpoints; hands-on with Azure AD, VNet, VMs, Storage, etc.
• Proficiency in AD and DNS development/deployment; cloud networking troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, NAT, SSL/TLS, etc.
• Experience with automation languages (PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, Bash, Python) and STIGing endpoints.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, collaborate, and support a team in a highly agile environment to implement multi-cloud solutions.
• Leverage automation, container orchestration, security, and cloud services for large DoW programs.
• Architect, design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions in AWS/Azure.
• Assist in partner network integration, testing, and monitoring.

Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work onsite five days a week at Ft. Meade, MD. Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work as a member of a team managing and maintaining multiple coalition Mission Partner network enclaves in support of the DoW community. The Senior Cloud Engineer will work with a team to design, implement, and maintain enclaves' virtual infrastructure in both AWS and Azure Cloud as well as on premises deployments. The Senior Cloud Engineer position is a demanding, high-energy role that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. The ideal candidate has exceptional problem-solving skills and a breadth of expertise in cloud networking concepts, modern CI/CD pipeline, platform automation, and infrastructure development supporting these technologies.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, collaborate, and support a team of subject matter experts in a highly agile environment, to implement best-in-class, multi-cloud solutions.
• Leverage a variety of automation, instance, and/or container, orchestration, security, and native/non-native cloud services for large DoW program(s).
• Architect, design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions and new capabilities in AWS/Azure.
• Assist in partner network integration, testing, and monitoring.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $170,000-210,000

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline, and at least 10-12 years of related professional experience.
• DoD 8140 compliant with active minimum IAT Level II Security+ (or higher).

• 5-7 years of experience designing, engineering, and deploying infrastructure systems and services within cloud environments.
• 5+ years of experience and proficiency working with Azure Cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux endpoints, with hands‑on experience with the following resources:
• Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networking, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, etc.
• Azure, RSV, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspaces, etc.
• Proficiency:
• Developing, engineering, and deploying Microsoft Active Directory and DNS.
• Supporting Windows and Linux Server/Desktop endpoints.
• With Cloud networking and troubleshooting Cloud networking environments (IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing).
• A solid understanding of firewalls, NAT, SSL/TLS, etc.
• Experience:
• One or more automation languages (PowerShell, ARM/Bicep Templates, BASH, Python).
• STIGing Windows and Linux endpoints and using the STIG Viewer for reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).

Desired Skills

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or similar STEM discipline.
• Experience:
• DevSecOps
• Using big data and cloud tools and technologies.
• Working with DoW computer network organizations and/or performers.
• AWS certification: AWS Certified Solution Architect; Associate/Professional (preferred).
• Azure certification: AZ-103/104 and/or AZ-304/305 (highly desired). CompTIA Security+ and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
