Job summary

Bain Capital is seeking a hands-on Cloud / Platform Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our AWS and Kubernetes environments in Massachusetts. This role emphasizes operations, governance, and delivering reliable, scalable platforms with a strong emphasis on leadership.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in cloud/ platform ops, 2+ years in leadership, and deep hands-on Kubernetes and AWS experience.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform operations.
2+ years in a leadership role.
Hands-on production Kubernetes experience.
Strong AWS governance, IAM and cost controls.
Experience with observability tooling and incident management.

Responsibilities

Own day-to-day operations of AWS and Kubernetes environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance.
Provide hands-on support for complex Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure issues.
Lead a ticket-driven support model with SLAs/SLOs and fast response.
Define, implement, and enforce AWS guardrails, IAM policies, and governance frameworks.
Mentor engineers on Kubernetes operations and AWS best practices.
Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to support platform needs.
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
