Job summary

Acadian Asset Management is seeking a Platform Engineer in Boston to build and operate cloud-native investment infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes. You will create reusable templates, advance automation, and collaborate with Investment and Platform teams to speed delivery.

The role emphasizes GitOps, observability, security, and cost efficiency, with a hybrid on-site 3 days per week in Boston and strong benefits. Strong Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud skills required.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field; 3+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating scalable services in AWS.
• Solid Linux, containers, and Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Proficient with Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize; CDK/CDKTF a plus.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of TypeScript, Go, or C#.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps tooling (GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
• Knowledge of observability platforms (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, New Relic).
• Experience with AI coding tools and modern AI concepts is a plus.
• Security basics: Vault, IAM, least privilege, secret management.

Responsibilities

• Build and support services enabling cloud capabilities across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop reusable IaC components (Terraform, CDK8s, Crossplane).
• Operate GitOps delivery models with ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to improve engineering workflows and guardrails.
• Support AI and quantitative workloads including Bedrock-hosted models.
• Automate the software delivery lifecycle in GitLab CI with tests and policy checks.
• Ensure observability and reliability with OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch.
• Embed security by default: Vault, IAM, and vulnerability scanning.
• Optimize cloud spend via right-sizing and autoscaling.
• Participate in on-call rotation and runbook/documentation creation.
