Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering in Atlanta to lead platform, tooling, and cost discipline enabling product teams to build, ship, and run in the cloud efficiently and safely.

You will partner with cloud vendors, drive AI-enabled workflows, and balance reliability with developer experience. The role includes mentoring teams, guiding strategy, and shaping enterprise cloud capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Java).
• 6–8 years of relevant work experience, including leading engineering teams.
• Experience with cloud platform engineering on major providers (GCP, Azure).
• Mastery of cloud cost management and optimization (FinOps).
• Experience applying AI and agentic workflows to accelerate platform and deployment engineering.
• Experience managing strategic vendor relationships, including negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategy, planning, and staffing for product teams and engineers.
• Collaborates with product teams to build secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Creates automation for infrastructure, monitoring, and test cases.
• Manages vendor relationships and guides procurement of critical tooling.
• Drives enterprise-wide tooling for reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentors engineers, conducts reviews, and develops talent across teams.
