Job summary

PayPay, a leading FinTech company, is hiring a Platform Engineer to own and evolve our end-to-end application delivery platform from CloudFront to EKS clusters. You will build robust in-house tools, develop custom Kubernetes controllers, and automate complex workflows with safety and reliability at the fore.

You will work across cloud infrastructure, networking, and service mesh with Python or Go, and contribute to AI-assisted development while maintaining production stability and code quality.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes internals and controller-runtime.
• Experience as Platform Engineer/SRE with end-to-end platform ownership.
• Experience with Karpenter, Argo CD, Terraform.
• Strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting end-to-end paths.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and automate in-house tools and Kubernetes manifest generator engines.
• Upgrade and patch EKS clusters with safe, repeatable automation.
• Manage components like Karpenter and Argo CD for autoscaling and GitOps.
• Implement and manage service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 production support.
• Configure CloudFront distributions and WAF for secure content delivery.
• Create and maintain platform architecture documentation.
