Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a cloud platforms internship in the CPAD within ISCD. This full‑time, onsite role can be based at El Segundo, CA, or Chantilly, VA. You’ll work on cloud software engineering across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, with mentorship and hands‑on project experience to complement your studies.

Ideal candidates have a CS/engineering background, 0–1 year of experience, and familiarity with Linux and DevOps tools. Travel and security clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• 0-1 year of industry internship/work experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Software development experience with at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems.
• Familiar with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
• Must be willing to travel domestically/internationally ~10%.
• The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Perform software and hardware development for cloud‑related rapid prototyping activities.
• Research and experiment with state‑of‑the‑art software/hardware technologies.
• Manage Linux systems to provide SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS capabilities.
• Implement DevOps technologies to streamline development, testing, build, and deployment.
• Leverage cloud tools/platforms such as Kubernetes and AWS/Azure/GCP services.
• Investigate bleeding edge cloud technologies for current and future implementations.
• Receive training and mentorship from cloud/software development experts.
• Learn about projects, tools, and technologies used across the enterprise.
