Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the CTO Enterprise Observability Platforms team in Plano, TX.

You will design and deliver secure, scalable technology products and own critical cloud and platform services across multiple business functions. You will contribute to AWS-based infrastructure, container orchestration, and automation tools, while ensuring production stability and high observability for large telemetry pipelines.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on system design, development, testing, and production stability including cloud-hosted services.
• Experience in large corporate environments with modern programming languages and database querying languages, with emphasis on platform/infrastructure automation.
• AWS architecture & core services — hands-on experience with VPC, EKS, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, KMS, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling.
• Experience deploying containerized workloads on AWS ECS and/or EKS, including service orchestration, networking/load balancing, IAM/security, autoscaling, production troubleshooting.
• AWS networking — VPC design, security groups/NACLs, PrivateLink/VPC endpoints, DNS, hybrid connectivity concepts.
• Terraform — modules, workspaces, remote state, state management, lifecycle, dependencies, troubleshooting.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation and ensuring secure use.
• Understanding of responsible AI use and secure handling of data in engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and hybrid transport across environments.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions across design, development, and troubleshooting, including cloud and platform solutions in AWS and hybrid environments.
• Produces secure, high-quality production code and maintains containerized runtimes on AWS.
• Architects, builds, and maintains production infrastructure in AWS using Terraform with secure provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Manages and scales containerized environments leveraging AWS EKS/Kubernetes, including autoscaling and production troubleshooting.
• Develops backend automation tools, microservices, and internal APIs to streamline platform operations and infrastructure lifecycle.
• Enhances observability and throughput for high-volume telemetry data pipelines in the cloud and across environments.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts and develops visualizations/reporting from large data sets for continuous improvement.
