Role: Cloud Platform Development Lead

Location: Remote

Duration: 06 Months

Client is seeking a full stack software engineer to join an Agile team developing and supporting an internal cloud-based platform. The team supports back-end services in Python and a modern front-end UI framework. The candidate will be part of a global Agile organization comprising DEV/QA/PO teams. The ideal candidate is delivery-focused, proactive, and has an agile development mindset.

As a developer, you will contribute to building a system impacting global financial markets and individual investing results. The team develops tools for managing market indices, focusing on improving user experience and adding innovative capabilities.

A full stack engineer in this role primarily works on front-end development but should also be comfortable with databases, REST APIs, and business logic implementation. The candidate enjoys prototyping, collaboration, and delivering high-quality, high-value products. Problem-solving and innovation are key traits.

Candidates should be:

1. An accomplished software developer with 10+ years of experience, with expertise in object-oriented programming, system architecture, code abstraction, and design patterns. Prior team leadership is preferred.
2. A full stack developer with a focus on UI/UX and back-end API and database work.
3. Passionate about solving complex technical and business challenges, curious, and eager to learn.
4. A strong team player focused on team success, sprint goals, and understanding user needs.
5. Effective in communication and collaboration within an Agile team of 5-8 engineers and QA, balancing individual and team objectives.
6. Initiative-taking and delivery-focused, capable of producing quality results from high-level guidance and collaborating through iterative PRs.

Requirements:

1. 10+ years of diverse professional software engineering experience across various technologies.
2. Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, Python, and SQL.
3. Experience in front-end engineering and architecture, especially in building complex SPAs using JavaScript/TypeScript.
4. Strong expertise in Vue.js (including Vue3). React experience is a plus but not required.
5. Back-end skills including Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Flask or FastAPI, and deployment on Nginx.
6. Data visualization experience with libraries such as Tableau, Highcharts, Chart.js, or similar, including creating SQL queries and APIs for data support.
7. Understanding of UI/UX design systems and establishing team standards.
8. Proficiency in object-oriented design and modular systems.
9. Experience with AWS cloud services, Docker, ECS, S3, ElastiCache, and Redis.
10. Strong experience in creating RESTful APIs.
11. Commitment to high code quality, performance, and testability.
12. Experience with unit testing, logging, benchmarking, and CI/CD pipelines.
13. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
