ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Lead to drive growth in the federal sector. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities in the U.S. government market, particularly across agencies focused on cybersecurity, cloud computing, DevOps, and enterprise IT modernization.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the federal procurement process, agency-specific missions, and a proven track record building pipeline and capturing contracts across Civilian, DoD, and/or Intel communities.

LOCATION

  • Remote in NoVA
  • Some travel will be required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a government-focused business development strategy aligned with company growth goals
  • Identify and qualify new federal opportunities through market research, relationship-building, and bid tracking platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, GovWin, etc.)
  • Lead capture efforts including shaping opportunities, identifying teaming partners, and gathering customer intelligence
  • Collaborate with internal proposal teams to develop winning proposals, white papers, RFIs, and RFP responses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, primes, and partners
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and agency briefings to stay ahead of procurement trends and upcoming solicitations
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of near-term and long-term opportunities across multiple agencies
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on BD metrics, pipeline status, and capture progress

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or capture in the government IT services sector
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), contract vehicles (GSA, GWACs, IDIQs, etc.), and proposal development lifecycle
  • Proven ability to build relationships across federal agencies and industry partners
  • Experience leading or supporting capture for $1M+ IT services opportunities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter mindset with ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Must be a US Citizen

NICE TO HAVE

  • Existing relationships within DoD, DHS, VA, Treasury, or Intelligence Community
  • Experience with solutions in cloud computing (AWS, Azure), DevSecOps, cybersecurity, or ServiceNow
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), pipeline tracking, and BD reporting
