Job summary

Maximus is seeking an IT Architect - Cloud Platform to drive enterprise cloud strategy, governance, and engineering standards across AWS, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps. You will influence multiple teams and ensure secure, scalable platform modernization while remaining selectively hands-on in critical areas.

The role is remote and requires strong leadership to align security, compliance, and business objectives with platform roadmaps, SRE practices, and developer experience initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud/platform engineering or infrastructure architecture.
• Proven track record designing and scaling enterprise cloud platforms on AWS.
• Deep expertise in DevSecOps, secure SDLC, and software supply chain security.
• Advanced experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and cloud-native architectures at scale.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins), SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory/Xray, and GitOps.
• Demonstrated ability to define architecture standards, governance, and enterprise frameworks.
• Experience leading large-scale transformations and influencing multi-team/platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize SaaS/PaaS platform architectures for scalable, secure operations.
• Lead evaluation and design of cloud platform solutions addressing business and technical requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and consultation to project teams and stakeholders.
• Design and maintain platform infrastructure, DR capabilities, and high-availability solutions.
• Analyze complex issues, perform root-cause investigations, and drive improvements.
• Evaluate new cloud services and integrations, including PoCs and adoption guidance.
• Collaborate to promote cloud architecture standards, automation, and procedures.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and deployment processes.
