Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks a Cloud Platform Architect to design and govern the enterprise cloud foundation supporting applications, analytics, and grid‑adjacent systems. This role will provide leadership across GCP, AWS, and Azure with a focus on security, observability, and reusable platform services.

The ideal candidate will drive standards, guardrails, and CI/CD provisioning while collaborating with security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to ensure compliant, resilient platforms ready for hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field or 4 years of experience.
• Seven years of related functional experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and architecture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise cloud foundations on GCP, AWS, and Azure with security and governance in mind.
• Define standards for networking, identity, logging, monitoring, and platform services.
• Lead cloud platform design with emphasis on security, observability, and operational readiness.
• Enable workloads to run across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.
• Mentor teams on cloud best practices and platform usage.
