Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Cloud Platform Architect to design and govern enterprise cloud foundations across GCP, AWS, and Azure. This role focuses on platform-level governance, security, observability, and automation to support hybrid and multi-cloud strategies.

You will establish standards, drive reusable patterns, and mentor teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions that align with our architecture tenets and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field or 4 years of experience equivalent.
• Seven years of related functional experience in large corporate settings.
• Experience with cloud platforms across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and govern enterprise cloud foundations on GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Establish cloud standards, patterns, and guardrails for rapid yet safe delivery.
• Ensure platforms align with architecture tenets including security, observability, and supportability.
• Enable workloads to run across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural mentorship across teams.
• Design enterprise cloud landing zones with built-in security and automation.
• Define standards for networking, IAM, logging, monitoring, and platform services.
