Job summary

System One is seeking an IT Engineer in Merrifield, VA for a contract role focusing on modernizing endpoints through Windows 365 Cloud PC environments. You will lead design, provisioning, and lifecycle management of Cloud PC images, while collaborating with architecture and security teams to implement future-state capabilities.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and governance for reliable endpoint operations.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Intune administration and engineering.
• Strong design and management experience with Windows 365 Cloud PC environments.

Responsibilities

• Support transition from Citrix VDI to Windows 365 Cloud PCs and IoT-based endpoints.
• Lead endpoint engineering, automation, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Design, build, and maintain Windows 365 Cloud PC environments; define provisioning standards.
• Develop Cloud PC image strategy and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with architecture and security teams to implement Cloud PC capabilities.
• Support Cloud PC disaster recovery and resiliency planning.
• Engineer Intune configurations, policies, and security baselines.
• Lead troubleshooting for endpoint management platforms.
• Implement and optimize endpoint security controls and governance for devices.
• Evaluate new Microsoft endpoint technologies and capabilities.
• Create automation solutions using PowerShell and Graph APIs to reduce manual tasks.
• Develop self-service capabilities and reporting/monitoring for operations.
• Support migration from ThinOS to Windows IoT platforms and manage IoT endpoints.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams on endpoint modernization.
• Define configuration and security standards for shared/kiosk devices.
• Assist lifecycle management of modern endpoint hardware.
• Act as technical lead for Modern Workplace technologies and maintain SOPs/runbooks.
• Provide guidance to operations and support teams.
• Partner with Microsoft/vendors to improve stability, security, and automation.
