Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Technical Support/SCCM Engineer to support a local client in Richmond, Indiana. The role focuses on deploying, securing, and administering Windows 11 endpoints across a large device footprint using SCCM and modern endpoint management tools.

Collaborate with senior engineering staff to deliver secure, reliable workstation services statewide, handle incident tickets, create images, perform security updates, and automate repetitive tasks with scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.
• MCSE or equivalent certification.
• 5+ years of proven work experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of degree or certification.
• Proven experience in complex troubleshooting with emphasis on Microsoft OS and Windows software applications, as well as advanced knowledge of the Windows registry.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, Entra ID join models, and identity-based management.
• Proven scripting experience with batch, PowerShell, and Visual Basic; aptitude for process automation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT devices across an enterprise network.
• Create and update enterprise desktop images, including non-standard workstation images for standalone systems.
• Perform frequent security updates and deliveries of enterprise desktop images.
• Diagnose and address security or functionality issues in desktop images.
• Maintain and secure all enterprise endpoints, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Identify, log, and track user-reported issues via the IT incident ticketing system.
• Resolve Tier III technical support tickets escalated to Desktop Engineering; escalate as needed.
• Assist staff with software installation, peripheral setup, and basic troubleshooting.
• Analyze deployment failures, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
• Ensure timely restoration, maintenance, and replacement of IT equipment (laptops, tablets, desktops).
• Document desktop system/network configurations, software inventories, and automation trends.
