Job summary

GDIT in Austin, TX is seeking a Cloud Operations Lead to oversee enterprise cloud operations for the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC). You will drive availability, security compliance, and modernization readiness across multi-cloud environments, partnering with cloud engineers, cybersecurity, and VA stakeholders.

You will shape governance, metrics, and automation, lead incident response, and coordinate with hosting and networking teams to ensure scalable, reliable cloud services in support of Veterans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience leading cloud operations, monitoring, incident response, or cloud governance in enterprise IT.
• Expertise with multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, VAEC), monitoring tools, and operational frameworks.
• Strong ITSM, cloud service delivery, governance, and CM practices.
• Ability to analyze cloud docs, workflows, capacity models, monitoring outputs for compliance.
• Experience developing cloud performance plans, dashboards, and corrective actions.
• Excellent written, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across cloud engineering, network, cybersecurity, hosting operations, and federal teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee enterprise cloud operations across the VAEC—ensuring availability, reliability, security compliance, capacity optimization, and modernization readiness.
• Manage cloud operational workflows, orchestration pipelines, monitoring tools, incident processes, service catalog offerings, and capacity forecasts.
• Work with cloud engineers, incident responders, cybersecurity teams, architects, and VA stakeholders to maintain resilient multi-cloud environments.
• Maintain and refine cloud governance standards, validate monitoring coverage, ensure security and TIC compliance, coordinate incident handling, and oversee change alignment.
• Design and manage cloud performance measurement systems, streamline response workflows, enhance automation, and integrate cloud operations with hosting, development, cybersecurity, and network teams.
