Job summary

11:11 Systems is seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer L2 to manage our cloud compute systems, including capacity planning, provisioning, fleet management, and alert monitoring. You will handle escalations, support Level I engineers, and ensure high availability while aligning with our code of business ethics.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field or equivalent experience, 4+ years in VMware administration, and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent years of work experience
  • 4+ years hands-on enterprise VMware administrator experience
  • VMware VCP or VCAP certification preferred
  • Experience with VMware management tools (vCenter, vCloud Director, VMware Configuration Manager, NSX) preferred
  • Experience with backup/DR tools such as Veeam and Zerto preferred
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure services (BaaS, IaaS, DRaaS)
  • Experience in global data center environments
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Act as escalation engineer for customer problems including on-call rotation
  • Provide escalation support to Level I Cloud Operations Engineers
  • Manage cluster compute capacity (hosts, CPU/memory)
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs for cloud capacity
  • Provide timely responses to escalated tickets and maintain customer experience
  • Follow company best practices for cloud systems management
  • Deliver professional service while upholding company values

Job description

The Role: 11:11 is looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer L2 to help manage all aspects of 11:11’s cloud compute systems. This position is responsible for the optimization, implementation and maintaining our organizations cloud-based systems. The Cloud Engineer will be involved with capacity planning, cluster provisioning, fleet management, alert monitoring, and escalations. This position will require an individual with a penchant for detail and a continuous improvement mindset. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Cloud Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide complete ownership and accountability of all responsibilities assigned regarding 11:11’s cloud compute systems.
  • Responsible for cluster provisioning, alert monitoring, and environmental management
  • Act as an 11:11 escalation engineer for customer problems including participation in engineering on-call rotation after hours.
  • Provide escalation support to Level I Cloud Operations Engineers
  • Manage cluster compute capacity (hosts, CPU/memory, etc.)
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs associated with cloud system capacity (CPU, memory, storage, etc.)
  • Provide accurate, timely and professional responses to escalated customer tickets from support. These actions ensure a good customer experience.
  • Follow 11:11 Systems best practices for cloud compute systems management.
  • Deliver superior customer service while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a manner that is consistent with 11:11’s Code of Business Ethics and Company Values
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle company data and information per Company data handling agreements, work procedures and policies
  • Review and follow company policies and guidelines, data privacy practices, including annual compliance training certification and policy acknowledgements
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or an equivalent years of work experience required.
  • 4+ years recent experience as a technical, hands-on, enterprise VMware administrator
  • VMware VCP or VCAP certified preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using VMware management tools (vCenter, vCloud Director, VMware Configuration Manager, NSX) preferred.
  • Experience with backup and DR solutions such as Veeam and Zerto preferred.
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure services, such as BaaS, IaaS and DRaaS .
  • Experience working with global data center environments.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

The base salary for this role ranges from $82,000 to $93,000.

These ranges are informed by market data, internal equity, and qualifications required by job level. Actual pay is based on multiple factors, including skills, experience, certifications, and location.

Individuals may also be eligible for variable incentives such as bonuses or sales commissions, which are also based on level and position within the organization.
