Job summary

Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join its Global Cloud Infrastructure team. You will help teams across the enterprise leverage public cloud platforms securely, reliably, and cost-effectively, transforming cloud data into actionable insights and supporting operational processes.

This role focuses on creating dashboards, analyzing usage, and advancing reporting and governance in a hybrid work environment with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Foundational understanding of cloud computing, monitoring/logging, source code repos, data processing, and IT service support.
Strong Excel proficiency (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, analysis).
Analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail with data interpretation.
Strong written and verbal communication for technical/non-technical audiences.
Ability to learn new technologies, manage priorities, document work, and meet deadlines.
Customer-service orientation, teamwork, organization, and collaboration.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if required.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain cloud cost, utilization, security, and performance dashboards.
Analyze cloud billing, usage data, identify trends, and support FinOps reporting.
Manage access requests, resolve routine issues, and coordinate escalations.
Modernize reporting by transitioning spreadsheet-based reporting into enterprise data warehouse and BI solutions.
Evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies, assist with PoC initiatives, and help establish governance and adoption frameworks.
Maintain accurate documentation, track work through Jira, and collaborate with cloud providers and finance partners.
