Job summary

Octaura is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to build and automate our operations platform, deliver scalable production environments, and implement new architectural patterns. The role emphasizes automation, security tooling, and environment standardization in a fast-growing fintech context.

Based in New York City with a 4-days-in-office and 1-day-from-home structure, you will collaborate with software, security, and DevOps teams to improve reliability, incident response, and operational BAU

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Extensive knowledge of modern cloud environments (preferably AWS).
• Linux sysadmin and debugging experience.
• Proficiency in Python or scripting languages.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-code management (Terraform).
• Experience with VMs and containers.
• Experience running scalable, multi-region production environments.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
• Problem solving with root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to operational readiness and platform stability by proactive automation and reactive environment support.
• Develop and maintain a platform of integrated systems and tooling to support Agile and DevOps practices across multiple development teams.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party software and configure connectivity with client infrastructure.
• Maintain and enforce compliance with audit controls and external certifications.
• Design and implement solutions for managing applications and infrastructure, focusing on security, reliability, and repeatability.
