Job summary

MongoDB is leading the modern data platform, driving Atlas as a premier multi-cloud database service. The Cloud Operations Engineering team manages Atlas customer uptime, builds internal tools, and automates operations at scale for cloud deployments globally.

As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will monitor systems, diagnose incidents, and collaborate with product and cloud engineering to improve reliability and orchestration.

Qualifications

• Experience as an on-call DevOps/SRE or Cloud Operations engineer.
• Strong Linux administration and networking skills.
• Knowledge of database operations and concepts.
• Familiarity with a wide range of web and internet technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience in monitoring, performance data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a global team of Cloud Operations Engineers to ensure uptime guarantees.
• Design and build internal tools and automation.
• Scale the Cloud Operations Engineering team with new processes and tools.
• Assist in scoping, designing and deploying systems to reduce MTTR for incidents.
• Monitor for and proactively resolve Atlas platform incidents.
• Automate internal processes and routine monitoring tasks.
• Diagnose incidents and differentiate platform vs usage issues.
• Collaborate with product and cloud engineering teams to improve management apps.
• Inform leadership of major outages and contribute to incident response.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotations and handle customer incidents.
