Job Summary
WeCare Medical Specialty Group is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Cloud Operations Administrator to be responsible for the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of our cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role will involve managing, monitoring, and maintaining our cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, implementing security best practices, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other IT teams to support our business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cloud computing principles, hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage, networking, databases) on our chosen cloud platform(s).
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement and utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and ensure high availability of cloud services.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures in the cloud environment, including identity and access management, data encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents and outages in a timely and efficient manner, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
Automation and Orchestration: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline routine operational tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure consistency.
Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Cost Management: Monitor cloud spending, identify cost optimization opportunities, and implement strategies to control cloud expenditures.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans for cloud-based services.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding cloud operations and issues.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures.
Capacity Planning: Monitor cloud resource utilization and participate in capacity planning activities to ensure the infrastructure can support future growth.
Stay Current with Cloud Technologies: Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cloud operations or a similar role.
Proven hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Certifications in relevant cloud platforms are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and services (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, ELK stack).
Solid understanding of networking principles and cloud networking services (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers).
Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
Experience with database administration in the cloud (e.g., RDS, Azure SQL Database, Cloud SQL).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Work Authorization
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid, unexpired work permit that allows you to work legally in the United States without sponsorship from WeCare Medical Specialty Group now or in the future.
