Job summary

groundcover is seeking a Deployment Engineer to blend hands-on engineering with project management and customer-facing responsibilities in a hybrid role in San Francisco/Boston. You’ll lead deployments, migrations, and integrations across customers’ cloud environments, ensuring smooth transitions and reliable instrumentation.

You will coordinate complex projects, build clear plans, and work with customer engineering teams to validate logs, metrics, and traces while adopting reusable AI skills

Qualifications

• 4+ years in implementation or comparable technical role.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and major cloud platforms.
• Experience with observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot scripts and use APIs.
• Strong project coordination and customer communication skills.
• Experience using AI tools in technical workflows.
• Experience migrating observability platforms or delivering production cloud-native rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and migration projects from kickoff through production readiness.
• Build practical project plans with clear scope, milestones, owners, and dependencies.
• Work with customer engineering teams to deploy and validate logs, metrics, and traces.
• Assist customers migrating from Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.
• Use and improve migration tools, scripts, and reusable AI skills.
• Coordinate migration testing and cutover plans with customers.
• Deliver enablement and document configurations and actions for success.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineers, TAMs, Support, Product, and Engineering to remove blockers.
