CFD Research Corporation in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure, high‑performance networks spanning on‑premise data centers, public cloud environments, and enclave‑based domains. The role primarily involves work at customer sites in Huntsville.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with cloud networking, SDN, and container‑native networking within Kubernetes environments, and will collaborate with security, DevOps, and application

Qualifications

• Must have network design experience securing inter-domain/enclave communication.
• Hands-on cloud networking services (VPC, VNets, peering, transit gateways).
• Linux OS experience required.
• Practical knowledge of multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic handling.
• Experience with SDN and hardware-defined networking technologies.
• Direct experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting networking within Kubernetes clusters.
• Ability to create and manage secure routing paths between isolated domains or enclaves.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy secure networks across cloud and on-premise resources.
• Build and manage cloud networking infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Configure Kubernetes networking using CNI plugins and container-based networking.
• Deploy and maintain SDN platforms and hardware-based network appliances.
• Connect remote cloud instances to on-premise data centers for hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Automate network provisioning and changes using IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Produce documentation and runbooks for network solutions.
