Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA and Seattle, WA is seeking a Network Development Engineer to maintain and evolve AWSs next-generation networks. You will work in a 24x7 on-call team, manage critical events, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to roll out scalable network designs.

The role emphasizes OS and networking proficiency, TCP/IP knowledge, and experience with routing protocols. Relocation and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
4+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience.
1+ years of automation scripting experience (Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl).

Responsibilities

Network development engineers perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, sustaining engineering, and documentation.
Create and implement changes on the network.
Work with automation teams to scale tooling.
Lead network projects in deployment, scaling, and optimization.
Provide critical network support to diagnose and resolve large-scale events.
Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, and configuration issues.
Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and software engineering teams for fast roll-out of designs.
Maintain standards across networking toolsets and ensure compliance.
