Job summary

MetLife is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and operate cloud-based applications with a focus on security, compliance, and scalable design. You’ll implement infrastructure as code and collaborate across teams to optimize financial operations and security postures.

Location is hybrid in Cary, NC, requiring in-office presence three days per week. The role includes a salary range and potential annual incentives as part of the overall compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of software development experience with Node.js and React.
• Experience building secure REST APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines to Azure services; Agile method.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic.
• Write reusable, testable code and APIs.
• Work with internal/external APIs and cloud services.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for Node.js apps on Azure.
• Create and manage Terraform configurations for cloud migration.
