Job summary

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join our growing technology team in Plano, TX. This hybrid role is ideal for early-career professionals aiming to accelerate development on modern cloud-native applications.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers to build scalable services on AWS, contribute to design reviews, and write clean, testable code in Java, TypeScript, Python, or Node.js. Location is Plano, with a commutable distance requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technical field such as CS/CE/IS/IT.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript, and Python to design, develop and maintain customer experiences on AWS cloud platform.
• Experience designing event-driven systems for asynchronous communication between systems and components.
• Strong emphasis on Test-Driven Development (TDD), object-oriented design, and testing for responsive web applications.
• Experience building software using design patterns, best practices, and coding standards.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver features from concept to production.
• Build and maintain scalable, cloud-native services on AWS as part of a collaborative engineering team.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and team planning sessions.
• Write clean, well-tested code in Java, TypeScript, Python, or Node.js following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and grow technical proficiency through feedback.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across the stack with support from senior engineers.
• Learn and apply engineering best practices: testing, observability, version control, and deployment workflows.
• Take ownership of well-scoped tasks and deliver them with increasing independence over time.
