Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Plano-based technology team. The role focuses on building cloud-native applications on AWS, collaborating across Agile teams, and delivering high-quality, well-tested code in Java, TypeScript, Python, or Node.js.

You will work on modern platforms, participate in design reviews, and grow your skills with guidance from senior engineers. This hybrid role requires commuting to Plano, TX and a passion for scalable, high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline with 3–5 years of experience
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript or Python for AWS cloud-based applications
• Experience designing and building event-driven asynchronous systems
• Strong emphasis on clean, reusable code with TDD and OO design
• Ability to collaborate within Agile teams and participate in design/code reviews

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver features from concept to production
• Build and maintain scalable cloud-native services on AWS
• Participate in design reviews and planning sessions
• Write clean, well-tested code in Java, TypeScript, Python or Node.js
• Contribute to testing, observability, version control, and deployment workflows
• Grow through code reviews and feedback from senior engineers
• Take ownership of well-scoped tasks and increase independence over time
