Job summary
Akamai is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to drive the cloud-native Kubernetes platform inside the Compute group. You will guide architecture, mentoring, and delivery across multiple engineering teams in an Agile environment.
You will shape the roadmap, ensure scalable, secure, and high-availability services, and partner with business stakeholders to bring new cloud products to market efficiently.
Qualifications
- 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Leadership experience in Cloud Native Platform Engineering.
- Experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Expert knowledge of the Go programming language and scripting with Python or Bash.
- Expertise in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and Linux-based operating systems.
- Experience leveraging CI/CD tools to promote good software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the cloud native platform built on Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies.
- Contribute to and shape the engineering roadmap with management and stakeholders.
- Contribute to enterprise features expected from a cloud native platform.
- Develop best practices, foster knowledge sharing, and mentor teams.
