Job summary

RapidScale is seeking an Application Modernization Architect to lead cloud-native modernization and advisory services. You will guide clients and delivery teams, translate complex requirements into actionable architectures, and contribute to PoCs and PoVs.

The role emphasizes strategic and tactical guidance, with opportunities to publish, speak, and shape modernization roadmaps across private, public, and hybrid clouds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, PhD path or 10 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years as an architect in cloud-native and modernization initiatives.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• Expertise in software architecture patterns including microservices and serverless.

Responsibilities

• Assess legacy portfolios and create modernization roadmaps.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure software solutions.
• Lead workshops to define modernization approaches and solution design.
• Act as trusted technical advisor on cloud technologies and architecture.
• Define scope, costs, labor projections, and SOWs/RFP/RFI responses.
• Design reference architectures and migration frameworks balancing cost and security.
• Architect full-stack solutions delivering measurable business value.
• Provide hands-on development leadership when needed.
• Speak at industry events and contribute to white papers.
