Job summary

Harvard Business Publishing seeks a Principal DevOps Architect to advance DevOps maturity and shape cloud-native and AI-enabled platforms. You will bridge software engineering and operations, defining architecture strategy and leading secure, scalable, and observable solutions at scale.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD and IaC standards, and collaborate with security and cloud operations to deliver reliable platforms for innovation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and operating scalable cloud platforms with DevOps.
• Proven ability to define platform strategy and drive adoption across teams.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise CI/CD, Jenkins, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable DevOps environment enabling CI/CD aligned to business goals.
• Partner with engineering to evolve cloud-native and AI-enabled architectures that are secure and observable.
• Provide architectural guidance on modernization, distributed systems, and event-driven platforms.
• Build reusable platform capabilities and developer enablement patterns.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and platform services to improve velocity and reliability.
• Establish and maintain DevOps standards, governance, and IaC practices.
• Champion IaC to provision, configure, secure, observe, and manage infrastructure.
• Lead cross-team collaboration with engineering, cloud operations, and security.
• Define observability standards and leverage telemetry to improve performance and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and foster automation, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Document architecture decisions, platform standards, and operational processes.
