Job summary

RingCentral, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager/Lead Systems & Data Architect to own the architecture and roadmap for a cloud-native data platform that supports analytics, real-time processing, and AI/ML workloads at scale.

You will mentor senior engineers, partner with data science and security teams, and drive governance, cost efficiency, and resilience across Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud services. This high-visibility role shapes data products for RingCentral's enterprise platforms and guides

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• Deep hands-on expertise with SQL, Spark, and Python; distributed data processing.
• Strong experience designing and operating data platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Background in data governance, metadata management, lineage, and cataloging.
• Experience with real-time/ streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) and orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex migration programs.
• Exceptional communication skills and executive-level presence.

Responsibilities

• Define cloud-native, enterprise-scale data architecture for batch, streaming, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
• Develop multi-year data platform modernization roadmap balancing speed, risk, cost, and continuity.
• Drive decisions across Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud services for scalability and security.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, infrastructure, security, and data science teams to design ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
• Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and access-control frameworks.
• Optimize performance and cost across Snowflake and Databricks environments; implement workload isolation and storage strategies.
• Lead DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC (Terraform) patterns for data platforms; define observability and disaster recovery patterns.
• Design data foundations for AI/ML/LLM workloads including feature stores and vector storage.
• Mentor senior data engineers and architects; communicate architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
